seeing diatoms

Its been almost a month since i set up my tank, 3 weeks since i added live rock, 2 weeks since in added small clean up crew. I never saw any sign of ammonia or nitrite. Im getting a little diatom algae on my sand. I guess i was just lucky. Guess my tank is about done with the "cycle" or whatever you want to call it.

Some tanks don't have a cycle, mine never did, I never saw a rise in anything except ammonia. The diatoms usually means your cycle is finished but I would still wait a while before adding fish to be sure.

Or at least add the fish or inverts 1 at a time or slowly ie:1 or two fish a week to see if a spike will occur or not.

ive already added a bicolor cromis', 3 peppermint shrimp, 1 blue damsel. No ammonia spike, next im going to add a blue tang, or 2 maroon clowns
