seeing stars !!!!!

i seem to have star fish popping up everywhere. i have a sand sifter and they kind of look like it. can they be offspring and should i worry about them?

I've got those too, but they're usually on my live rock or glass only, I never see them on the gravel though.

Very common hitch hikers, will get no larger than a nickel or so. Most are harmless but a few may go for corals. Keep an eye out. If they hang out on the glass and rocks, then they are generally eating algal/bacterial films and such. They willl reproduce by splitting, which is why they often have shorter arms.
