Seeking advice on stocking list/order...

Hello,
I'm getting ready to start stocking my 170g FOWLR and have the following stocking list/order in mind.
1. Flame Angel
2. Longnose Hawk
3. Pearlscale Butterfly
4. Foxface
5. Snowflake Moray Eel
6. Hawaiian Blue Puffer
7. Powder Blue Tang
8. Imperator Angel (juvenile)
9. HumaHuma Trigger
The 170g is a 48l x 24w x 34d tank w/ a center island overlow, 40g fuge/sump, and 150-200lbs of liverock. For flow there are 4 Seio 820s along with the return pump (Eheim 1262), which is on a SCWD. I am running a mesh modded Octopus NW-200 skimmer along w/ carbon, purigen and phosban for filtration; and run an ozonizer w/ an AC3 controlling the system.
My plan is to get the fish on the small side. I do not have any plans to upgrade in the near future (at least 5yrs), so I want to be sure these fish will be "comfortable" in this size tank. Any constructive criticism that can be provided on my proposed stocking list and order would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
JD

howdy fellow ct guy :)
i'm not all that sure that a couple posts were what youre looking for so far...
170 gallon tank is a nice sized tank. too bad though that it is a 48l, the powder blue may run into the walls while trying to swim in it hehe, but it is deep enough so maybe.

in this tank, i'd start off with the least territorial. i'd probably put the angel in last, but if you go slow in adding i don't think you'd be overstocked. probably start off with the foxface or hawkfish. with most of your stock list, you will either have to go invert free or have a good friend that owns a lfs or wholesaler.

Ah, a fellow CT dweller...I actually work up in Avon...
Anyway, I've had reefs for the past 8yrs, but have decided to give them up for a long while and go with an agressive FOWLR, so no corals. I have no plans for inverts either, but if I did they'd be kept to the refugium as I realize they would be nothing more than quick meals with my stocking list.
Is the Powder Blue a fast growing Tang? I don't know if it would be any better, but I would consider a Purple Tang instead.
Thanks for the input.

JD,
most of those fish that you are planning on getting will grow up to about 6'.So with that you will probably have to delete 2 or 3 or 4 IMO of those fish on your stocklist.because you were planning on adding all those fish as juvi's and you were thinking that they all will be compatable with each other, but when they grow up... they wont.
i am going through this where since i have a queen angel that i just added about 2 weeks ago and that i was planning on getting a hawaiian black trigger and maybe a blonde naso tang .
But because i have a queen angel the trigger would go nice with it but beacause the blonde naso is docile to semi-aggressive
it probably wont work with my queen angel so i have to find another tang preferably a sohal tang
so just one fish of your stocklist could ruine your whole tank just like that.
i would delete the eel and a flame angel if you are really wanting an emperor angel and if so deleting another fish just IMO delete the huma huma trigger.
Sincerely, Spencer

oh, i didn'te even register that you wanted two angels. that's definitely a bad fight waiting to happen.
triggers are hit or miss... but at anytime they can just go off on a killing spree.
i'd say a purple tang would be decent :) very teritorial, but they are also getting rarer and rarer to find.

My understanding is that you can have a dwarf angel with a large angel, is that not true? I've also seen many tanks with more than one large angel, even though that is not my intention. Or is it just like anything else in this hobby where it just takes one bad fish to upset the school?
Truefishman, if you've alreay have a Queen Angel you'll likely not be able to add anything new with much success w/o pulling it. My understanding is that they are very territorial and need to go in last.

JD,
i have been tacking care of my tank while my brother has been at collage and he is very picky on getting fish that are tettoreal and we went for the queen. our intension was that our queen will go with our other fish and not bother them. but when we got at our LFS i was very worried because it was in about a 150g tank and its tankmates were a harrliquen tuskfish a purple tang
copperband butterfly a powder blue tang so i was worried that it will bother the other fish in our tank but when my brother got home (yesterday) he was very pleased that our queen respected the clownfish and their anenomie and all the other fish so we are planning to get the trigger (hawaiian black trigger) and a tang were not sure yetbut between these a blonde naso tang male from the red sea or the sohal tang
