Well, made it through another semester.
Today is my last day of classes this semester. Next week is finals week.
I'm using today to print some stuff off, do my last and final drafts of my reports and finish off quizzes. This semester has been a long and bumpy road. I hated Genetics, and in fact, I have to take Genetics again next semester because I wasn't getting enough time to study for it... and my professor was an actual geneticist that works in hospitals and teaches it from a medical perspective and gives tests like we are all medical students. I'm opting for the easier professor next semester, quite obviously.
Other then that, my GPA is still strong, which is way north of a 3.3. I was accepted into Teacher Education in the College of Arts, Education and Sciences. In only three more short semesters, which are called teaching "Blocks" I will be learning the art of teaching. I am almost done with all of my science classes, however, I still have to re-take Genetics. I have to take Ecology and Freshwater Ecology before I'm done. One per semester will be way more than enough to handle during my blocks.
Now I head on into Winter - with deer season in full swing. Since I'm a taxidermist (skilled artisan) this is a great time for me to earn extra cash before the next school semester. I know eventually it will all get easier. I'm still looking forward to that day.
Next school semester will be all about classroom management, lesson planning, and teaching kids how to read. (even in high school, a main goal is to make sure that everyone can at least read and create a coherent sentence before they graduate.) On top of taking Genetics. I'll have time to study this winter.
I miss not having a saltwater aquarium, but at the same time it is helping me by giving me extra money for materials to use in classes and to pay for different school-required programs. I was able to save enough money to purchase a tablet so that I can easily take it to class and type my notes instead of hand-writing notes which just gets me behind.
It's thanksgiving week,... so I wanted to say thank you to all the regulars on this board who put so much time and energy into helping new hobbyists succeed. Thank you for giving me advice when I needed it and to make me think in different perceptions I didn't know what possible. Thank you for supporting me when I didn't have the confidence to continue with my education, and for boosting my ego when I needed it. Thank you very much for listening and being such a great group of friends that ya'll are.
