I would still want other hobbyists opinions before I where to buy it. Even though it is only E20 or something like that...

Seems like a neat gadget, but I do find it rather limiting, and not close to what the other major players are offering. Curious as to how accurate their lux meter is? The major players in meters state there is issues with measuring certain areas, and they aren't cheap, so curious as to how that all factors in.....Definitely not a fan of a monthly fee as well.....

I just bought a Seneye from the UK. Should be here sometime in the next week or 2. Figured it would be a fun gadget to play with. My 6 month old "cheap" LED unit blew out 2 days ago and I had to order a new LED Fixture (I modified the old one to split the blue and whites on timers, so no warranty).
I was hoping the Seneye would give me some idea of my lighting parameters. The subscription service isnt' required, its a pay as you go, while the slides you replace only last about 30 days each ($10 a piece), if you don't replace it you just won't get free ammonia and pH readings. All other parameters, such as Temp, Water Level, PAR, LUX and Kelvin (along with the spectrum analyser) all function without the slide.
The company has also stated they are working on adding additional parameters. They have named Nitrites, Nitrates, Chlorine, Carbonate an General Hardness to the additions of the . Best part is that they will be useable by existing Seneye users for no additional charge.
I'll let you know how it works for me. I'll be running my API tests along side it to see how accurate it is throughout the month.

Just looked at it again.....Neat gadget, but honestly......How accurate is the light meter....I'm curious how there's is any better or different than some of the other well know meters on the market. It's a known fact there are issues with LEDs being read correctly with meters.....Again raises my interest how accurate it really is, which brings me to another point.....With the advent or advances of LEDs in the hobby the lux meter and what not tracking so you can see if your lights are degrading.....Again LEDs don't drop off as traditional lighting we've used, so seems pointless feature to a degree......
Actual some of the other monitoring components as far as ammonia, chlorine, nitrites and nitrates seems so irrelevant......Why would someone pay for something you can use a good quality test kit. Again I'm not always practical, but once your tank is truly established and if your doing your part how often are most of us testing ammonia........
Honest and it's just my opinion if I was going to buy or spend $180.00 it would be put towards a good controller that can monitor IMHO important vitals of my system and at the same time control my lighting, pumps, PH's, water changes, dosing and what not......Again just my .02 an over priced test kit......
