I know there was just a post about a star seemingly in pieces.. but I have a different case. I have had my serpent star for about 2 weeks and all was good. I acclimated him over the period of an hour. Everything was going good. He was eating leftover food and detritus. Well, 2 days ago I was adding buffer to the tank.. and I know I shouldn't do this.... I added buffer straight to the tank... Everyone has told me to mix it up with saltwater and then add it to the tank..... but well, some of this stuff fell on my serpent. He seemed pretty shocked and agitated because he started moving as far and fast away as possible. I was pretty worried so I aimed a powerhead near him so whatever was on him would get somewhat blown off. He seemed okay so I stopped worrying.. and now when I looked at him today to feed the critters he was missing two legs.. which were at the other side of the tank. Test results: PH:8.2 Am: 0 Trites:0 Trates:10.... I used Proper PH. Any advice?
