Serpent Star....won't come out

This past weekend we finally added our first bunch of livestock to our 108 g reef tank.
10 blue leg hermits - all appear to be doing fine.
10 turbo snails - only a few were moving the first day, but as of last night they all seem to be doing fine.
2 Percula clowns - seem to love having the tank to themselves.
and 1 serpent star - this is who I'm concerned about. Once added to the water, he literally RAN for the LR and hasn't come out since Saturday.I can see a few legs sticking out and one appears to have a white spot on it. Should I be worried? Does this sound like "normal" behaviour for a serpent star? We tried squirting some "Micro-vert" right near him and the only reaction we got was a leg moving a little. In the LFS all the starfish in the one tank were practically fighting over this food.
What should I do??
(Substrate is Aragonite, our levels are PH 8.2, Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 10.)

I added a green serpent as part of my clean up crew and he was a coward for a few days. Now hes established himself and comes out at feedings regularly and is fun to watch. He really likes brine shrimp.
As far as the white spot, I couldn tell you. From what ive read though, theyre pretty hardy creatures. You might work on getting the Nitrates down though.

I have a couple of brittles and a couple of serpents also. IMHO, just keep an eye on the white spot. Maybe it's just a old scar? Or maybe it lost part of its leg and the spot was where it grew back. I know im reaching but it's possible. ;)
The only time I really see my stars leave the rocks is at night when I drop some shrimp or some silversides on the bottom. Most of the time though they stay curled up in rocks with a leg or two hanging out!
It's amazing to get the rare glimpse of how fast they move and it's crazy how they can fit in the smallest places! Very cool.
