Serpent Starfish Lost leg

My green Serpent Starfish lost a leg. This is one of my favorite additions! I have lost some small fish, emerald crabs and pepermint schrimps over the last few months. This was driving me crazy since all my paramietrs were good....
...Then I seen the problem I believe, a large crab hiding in a rock. I lured him out with a large chunck of shrimp but he got away...been 3 weeks trying to catch him.
I beleive he tore my Serpent Starfish leg off and tore part of another leg. When I noticed the leg missing I thought I had a sick Serpent Starfish...and added some meds.
I believe his leg is regrowing since the disk area was totally at lose of the leg, it appears the leg may be comming back or am I incorrect? The photos are not the best but he came out today and I was able to grab him for a photo shoot. Any ideas?
Sorry for spelling errors

good luck wit the removal of that crab i just went threw it and after a couple of months i got him.....the best advice i can give you is use a flashlight late at night. keep your net handy because you only have seconds to make your move. if you do locate him by flashlight and he is in reach with your net dont shine the light directly on him, go slow. i have alot of post on my quest for my big jimmy and he was huge.....

just be patient i would not recomend recking your tank to get him he will present the perfect opertunity and you will get him
the aftermath of tearing up your tank to get him is horable. and chances are you wont even get him they are smart

Yes, the brittle is regenerating and will likely be fine. however, I don't recommend holding them by the arms like that, as their instinct is often to break the arms at that point (hence the name brittle star).
