Setting up a fuge. Quick questions.

I just purchased a brand new 90 gallon drilled tank with Stand and a bunch of other stuff. It came with a reef master Fuge , I'm very new at all this, I've had fresh water tanks my whole life and just now getting into saltwater. I'm curious on how I need to setup my Fuge.
1. It has 2 Inlet pipes Into the bio balls, do I need to T of from the drain into the Fuge?
2. The second chamber has a light, I'm under the assumption this is where I will put some cheato, rock rubble or miracle mud?
3. Where will my protein skimmer go? The person I bought it from was recommending I attach it directly to the tanks output, so all the water goes threw there first... Never seen that before.
Please correct me if I'm wrong on anything.

Now I have another fuge, that I can take a picture of later. Similar setup a little bigger, but it only has 1 intake, no bioballs and the first chamber is much bigger.

Looks like it is just a fuge. If you have a low bioload and stick to your water changes there shouldn't be a need for a skimmer... at least for six months to a year.
I wouldn't use miracle mud either. put about 4" of live sand in the bottom and use some caulerpa or grascilleria macroalgae.... should be golden for a while.

Wow Thanks for the quick response, I was hopping that I wouldn't need to get a protein skimmer for awhile. I plan on taking my time with it, giving it about 3 months for the dead rock to turn to live rock.
This will allow me to buy a really nice protein skimmer later on.

looks great but I wouldn't use those outdated bio balls go on BRS's Website ( **************.com) they sell ceramic bio balls that hold a lot more surface area than those plastic balls
