it's the Berlin Turbo XL with pump. It doesn't say it's a "in sump" or "hang on" it's the model 50158.

I have a XL Berlin skimmer but its not the turbo. I believe the only differents is the turbo comes with a pump with the airline going directly into the pump. I think all you have to do is connect the hose they gave to the pump and then the other end of the hose to the bottom of the skimmer. Place it in your sump and make sure the pump is under 6 to 8 inches of water.
If you dont have a sump you would have to figure away to hang it off the back of your tank or biuld a stand for the skimmer and still have the pump under 6 to 8 inches of water. These skimmers are a pain to convert to hang on back. If you dont have a sump I would exchange it for a hang on back skimmer. I hope this didnt confuse more.

No that doesn't confuse. I found some pics on the web of them setup completely so your info and the pics I found have cleared a alot up. Thanks for the info.
If anyone else has any info on these skimmers, please let me know so that I know what to expect. :jumping: :jumping:

I have a hang on back berlin also that is currently in the sump of my 40 gallon setup and I used to have it on my 90 gallon setup. It works 100% better in the sump. I think it has to do with the pump being connected right into the skimmer instead of the pump being connected by a hose 8 inches away from the skimmer. What ever you do make the distance of the pump closest to the skimmer as possible. They work awsome if you can do that. Good luck!!!

Thank you so much for your help. my tank isn't tall enough to put it in my sump so I will have to attach it with hose. this skimmer is 33" tall.
