Setting up first 29 gal w/Sump

I originally had this post under the Reef forum, but didn't get any responses. Thought I might have better luck here....
I'm in the process of getting everything together for my first shot at a SW Reef tank (actually my first SW tank period). I'm getting a 29 gallon tank on Thursday and am going to also pick up a 10 gal for a sump. This weekend I plan on building the sump (with all the help and information I've found on this site). Before I start the sump though, I need to get an overflow, protien skimmer, pump, ect...
Any recommendations on a good skimmer and pump? Also how much sand should I add. I'd like to have atleast a 3-4 inch DSB. I'll be sure to post pics along the way.

I am not sure about a pump (i have no sump on my 29g), but I know that the AquaC is the best one out there for tanks our size. I am not sure of the cost (im guessing btw $150-$200) but you definatley dont want a cheap one. Many people on this site have recommended this skimmer for smaller tanks. As for sand, I am guess you need around 30-40lbs of it to get that deep a bed. Hope everything goes well, gl with your tanks.

Thanks for the response Boomper. What are you using instead of the sump? Just a regular wet/dry along with the skimmer? Have you had any problems with nitrate levels or anything else?
