Hey there everybody. Well, I just bought my 115g setup and have a couple of quick questions. First off, I have all together 530w of pc lights, 4 12k and 4 BA's. Will this be enough lighting...for just about everything. Secondly, I am looking at ordering live rock. How much should I get? The tank demensions are 48-18-31. I was thinking about 100-150lbs. I use to make it, but have decided not to do so this time. Just taking any suggestions...
OH...and help out w/ stocking. Give me some ideas...if you do not mind...post some pics w/ what you have and amounts of LR and such. Thank you
My tank:
115g, Stand, Canopy
100lbs of Live sand
Prizm Pro deluxe
2-mag 350 deluxe w/ wheels
530TW of PC lighting, 4 12k and 4 BA

That's what I'm asking...with the lighting, what could I have? AND...if I couldn't have sps, what would I need? Should I take one of the pc's out and put a 400w metal halide?

Slow down and get the tank setup and cycled first and don't worry at this point about corals and such...... To be totally honest you should take back or upgrade the skimmer.....Those things are a PITA and always need toyed with and are way overrated as to the gallonage they will handle.....Do yourself a favor and check out a better quality skimmer for the tank....Spend money once instead of having a closet full of useless stuff

Thank you for the help and responses. I have really considered swapping. I had it set up on my 75g, and am upgrading to the 115. I am just wanting to get ALL the equipment that I'll need while I have the money. You never know what will happen tomarrow, that is why I am getting as much information and help that I can. I have NEVER had a reef tank. Maybe a couple of mushrooms, but I do not think I'll be doing them. They spread too fast and the few corals I had, the wierdest thing is, when the mushrooms grew and "touched" the corals, the corals died. I just want to set up a beautiful tank that I can admire for years to come...aka, since I'm still in school...and will be for another 5-7 years. lol.

thats weird my frogSpawn and my mushroom touch...and they love each other. nock on wood.....

take it from someone whos building a 200g VERY SLOW. because lack of money and i want to do it all the right the first time. plumbing, lights, hood, everything. if you want SPS or clams. get rid of some of that PC lighting and swap it out with 2x250w MH and some nice 13k and 15k bulbs.
I would get rid of that skimmer. sell it! i would look into getting one from the AquaC pro line. something rated at 200g and over. im a big fan of skimming
one last thing is FLOW- you need flow lots! how many PH do you currently have? your over flow pump, how big is it?
