ok so im setting up my nano right now...and im a little confused...should i put the bio balls and ceramic rings or not...it says if your gonna do reef...that just the sponge alone is good
Freshwater - Recommend using sponge filter, ceramic media and bioballs.
Saltwater Fish - Recommend using sponge filter, ceramic media and bioballs.
Saltwater Reef - Recommend using sponge filter only. Live rock acts as a natural bacteria filter.
i have live rock...so im not sure which way to go...ty for the help in advance

so did you take out the carbon also...?? what brand do you have? did you upgrade the lighting or did you leave it? Thanks for answering my questions.

Yea i run carbon, but only for a week or 2. Some people run it 24/7 but if you do, be sure to change it often. No, i didnt upgrade my lighting.
