Setting up new tank, fish suggestions

I'm setting up a new 46 gallon FOWLR tank and need some ideas for the tank. I want non-aggressive peaceful fish. I was thinking of getting to clownfish and maybe a small blue tang. Would 46gallon be too small for a tang? I know tangs can get quite large but I probably would only keep the tang for 1-2 years. What other fish would compliment this setup and what would you guys recommend adding to a tank like that?

I would say no to the tang. and you should remeber not all clownfish are peaceful. If you want a peaceful species go with the true or false pers or one of the skunk clowns. Some other fish that i think would look nice are a flame gobie, a sixline wrasse, either a flame angel or a coral beauty and a yellow coris.

i would recommend not putting any fish in there until your tank is done cycling except for maybe adding a damsel or 2 after about 2 weeks so the tank can cycle. when ur tank is done cycling, IMO i wouldnt put more than 4 or 5 fish in there depending on size. they usually say 1 inch of fish per 5 gallons of water.

I think a flame angel would be great in there. Just make sure you have plenty of live rock and wait about 6 months before you add him.
