Setting up QT, Question on mini skimmer

I'm setting up my 11 gal. QT and would like to get advice on a skimmer for it. I bought it with a Rio Nano Skimmer and was wondering if this is good for the long haul or if I'm going to eventually need something better. I'll also be putting in a small heater and I have read that a light is optional which I will eventually get.

The Rio Skimmer should work just fine on that size tank. They're decent little skimmers. A light isn't necessary for a QT, but if you have one, it's always nice to use and keep the fish on a day/night cycle.
