Setup for a 75 (kind of long)

Hey all - going to post this here and possibly later in the reef section .... but here goes.
Tank = 75 gallons
Overflow in the upper left (drilled in back wall not bottom - got it used) so it is not a stand pipe.
Two sumps will be below the stand with lots of room for excess in case of pump failure and back siphoning. Sump on left side will have filter media and a small sand base to act as a filter - plus the protien skimmer - it will pass into sump opn right which has heater and return pump. kalk/fw drip will also be in the sump on the right. Don't want one huge sump - prefer two so I can conver to a larger refugium if need be. could also close one off as an emergency extra QT tank and also as a juvenile rearing tank if need be (hope not to have to use if for any of these ... but I like to be prepared).
Mag 9 return pump to a SCWD (Squid) wave maker that will run from the middle and down the side to create an alternateing currnet via spray bar.
A power head jacking water up to a refugium which sits on a shelf above and behind the tank. The refugium water travels into a surge device .... then the surge would release into the tank on the left hand side for 3 alternating currents .... but I would shut the surge down in the evening.
What do you think?? any ideas or tweaks to make this thing run better??
Thanks!!

DVS - thanks for the input. Hmmm figuring a Mag 9 would provide enough umph to power the scwd's spray bar .... you think I should step it up?? Which pump??
Surge device - picture below. Basic explanation: The water starts filling the chamber. As the chamber fills the surge flow pipe (for lack of a better word) starts to fill. Once the water level is high enough the surge flow pipe will create a strong siphon and suck all the water it can down into the tank until the syphon is broken. It is an automatic process - and in case it does not work I have a rigid emergency overflow tube built in. The over flow would be only slightly higher than the level needed to create the siphon. Also - I will be filling from the side - higher up and not from the bottom where the picture below shows it .....
