Sharing my reef tank sump with Sea Horse Tank

I am going to set up a seahorse tank for my wife and I was curious about sharing the sump for my reeftank with the seahorse tank. Are there any problems with doing this besides if something goes wrong in either tank the other will be affected. If I can do this I will be able to share the skimmer and canister that I already have (they are rated for a much larger tank than I currently have). This will also give me the added benifit of stability that my established reef tank has already plus I will only have one system to monitor, top off and do water changes on.

Seahorses require far cooler temps than reef tanks. I keep my reefs at 79-81,
my seahorses at 72. It would also depend on what species seahorse you are keeping, but you will still be pushing the envelope. You would need to lower the reef temp to a compromising temp, and raise the seahorse temp to acompromising temp. Thus both tanks unhappy and bordering on disaster.

becareful sharing , i wouldnt do it, if one tank gets sick they both do, and the seahorse cant get over some of the things that ref fish can....

I wouldn't either. It's hard enough to keep from spreading germs between family members.
