I'm just in the beginning phases. I have a couple of sharks in tanks, but would like to do it up right. Your filtration sounds alright. I too was thinking of using live rock in a seperate sump. What kind of skimmer do you use and do you use UV?

the LR is in a seperate sump. my blacktips dont like decor. i dont have a skimmer right now or uv im finishing up and a little short on cash. What kind of sharks do you have? If you can keep them in tanks than you shouldn't have any problems with a pond. Have you decided on a size? basicly my pond is a 10 Ft diamiter circle and 2foot deep, water is pumped from the pond to the filters than to the 100 gal sump full of LR than it goes through another filter(same as the first) than it is gravity feed back into the pond.

I have a 320 gallon tank with a bamboo and epaullette. I'm still not sure on the size of pond. I'm planning on adding a recreation room onto my house and putting a pond in it. I just got a wild hair today thinking that I maybe could find room in my basement with out having to wait to build on a room(my wife doesn't know this)
What kind of sharks do you have in your pond, and what is yours made out of. Is it pre-fabbed or did you build it?

I should read more carefully. You have black tips. That is my dream. How do they do in a 10ft. circle. How big are they? Yes go see your brother for a camera. Now I really want to see some pictures.

Some large systems also include what is basically a pool filter...a big sand filter and skimmer.

Me and my friend Mike are setting up a 300gal shark pond in his basement. I'll get some pics this weekend. Its a fairly easy set up. I think we have right at 500 into it. here is also a pic of my two foot nurse shark (which is for sale) in my 450gal

Yeah mike told me about you. Must be great to go to the ocean and fish all the time. I love it! Check out the bonnet heads I caught in Ft Myers. I couldn't keep them alive, they got hooked really good and bled to death. Great fun though. Me and Mike are going to try and get up there in about 3 weeks. Thats another reason why I'm selling my Nurse Shark. If I take her out I could ad at least 3 Atlantic sharpnose. Well talk to ya later.

That realy sucks. Are you bringing the sharks back in a circle or rectangle contaner? do you have any filtration going on the way back?

Circle container, and yes lots of water movement and filtraion. But I think the water in the container got to hot in the FL sun while I was fishing. I shouldn't have got greedy and left when I caught the 2nd shark. The 19" was first then the whopping 36" came shortly after. They were both caught on San Carlos Pass in Fort Myers FL.

I normally start fishing when the sun is setting and finish when the sun rises. It gives me time to observe the sharks if they have been in the tank for a while and are still acting wierd i let them go. I might have a deal for you. if i catch some sharpnoses we can trade for the nurse. my pond will be finished cycleing by than.
