im in the process of ordering a tank from tenecor and i was wondering if a 2 foot height tank would be a good height. the tank is 10 feet long and 4 feet wide would this be a good tank. Im planning on my bamboo, 2 smoothhounds or 2 horns and 2 cali rays

I think that height is more than enough. Sounds like youre building the same fish list as me civickid?:D Besides, have you seen the price change when you add another 6" of height? Glad Im not a reef addict!
The model I bought from them is a 8x4x4. Im thinking of buying the 10x4x30" soon.

too bad they dont make any wider tanks than 4 feet cause it would be nice to get a tank that is 10-6-2. You could keep just about any of the smaller skarks in there for the life of them.
GAS how did you get your tank in your house with it being that big. I was going to have them bring it in the garage and set it on my stand. How heavy was you tank you ardered from them

The house was still in the works then so it was easy cause none of the walls were finished. Just slid it in. It took 7 well built men to get it done.

If you are serious about getting a tank that size, email me at saltyboy21@yahoo.com
I can build you one, and since you aren't very far from me, you wouldn't pay ridiculous shipping prices.

how do you figure that i will spend the much a month to run the tank. the only electricity i will really have is some cheap flouresent lights and a couple of pumps and some food.

Not a lot, but yeah. The typical salt, pH chem, iodine if you choose, multivitamins and I think your underestimating the electricity cost. When the 125 went up, by bill increased another $75. Hope you dont need a/c.

there wasnt even a noticeable change when i put my 90 gallon together. even with the water and electricity.

Well, triple the amount of water that tank uses and the electricity to move it. Then, add on the skimmer, UV, canister filters, heaters/chillers- thats a big jump.

i have a skimmer, 2 heaters and uv sterilizer on the tank now and nothing changed. When i start the 600 it might go up 50 dollars or so but not that much.

50 dolllars??? I spend that on food/supplements in a month.
A 20% water change would be 120gallons at a minimum, provided you do not have another 50gallons for the sump. Say you had a 50gal sump, then you have 650 gal, 20% water changes would be almost a bucket of salt alone, every month.
You don't plan on running a 600gallon acrylic tank with all powerheads and airstones for sharks do you? That's pretty tacky IMO.
2 bags squid/shrimp and vitamins per week will be 50 bucks a month.
