Shark Tank-

ok, here is the deal. lfs has a small banded cat.. about 6 inches. He is in a 12x24 lfs tank. I want to take him outta there and put him in mine temporarily, until I find him a better home. Nobody is going to buy this thing around here- small town-2 lfs's. It's been there a while. So I have a 110. 3 ft tall, 4 ft long, 18 inches deep. I know this is not much room for him, but it is better than where he is right now. I know I need kinda fine soft sandfor him. What else will I need? I've never kept a shark before. Thanx!

If you do buy him try and berate the person who ordered him and put him in the tank so maybe they won't do it again.....
Frikin buy a cat or dog and just shoot it next time :) Y put a shark in that tank. They HAVE to know he won't be comfortable in it. And i know it wasn't cheap to get him.... Sorry this hobby is turning me into a fish activist.... To many dumb decisions out there.
BTW i think araganite may be to coarse for sharks. YOu need the really fine sand. I could be wrong though. There are shark experts better than me out there.

You need real fine sand or the shark will scratch it's underside and would most likely get infected and die.
I would go to another town and find a LFS that sells fine sand in bags and purchase about 4" worth.
you also cannot have anything else in the tank to safely house the shark in something that small. I would suggest you get a Wet/Dry filter and protien skimmer rated at 3 times your tank size.

Unfortunately i don't recommend buying the fish to save it... Chances are the LFS will figure that since they sold that one they will get another and try to sell that also.
