shaving brush plant

got 2 yesterday from swf.com. it arrived all smelly in very foul water inside the bag. today, it turned all white inside my tank. anyone has any experience with this plant? i think the plant is dead, but need to confirm b4 throwing them out.

Some fading is normal, as long as they are not losing the bristles I would let them be for a while and see what happen.
Might be good to let them know and see what they say also.

IME with Penicillus sp., they often get shocky and will lose their "bristles". however, altho they look dead, they usually snap out of it and begin growing again after they get acclimated.

My LFS gets these in all the time.. I've never successfully kept any.
