Last night my new Coral Beauty was found at the bottom of the tank. I bought her from a lfs last week, drip acclimated her for 3 hours. She seemed fine. Was swimming happily all the way up to yesterday AM. She just died.
Why? She looked completely healthy. Other than a cleanup crew, the only other fish in the tank are a clown and a pj cardinal. My water prams are good...
ammonia 0
nitrates 0
nitrites 0
pH 8.2
Any ideas?

did you quarintine her? She could have been carrying a parasite. A fish can look healthy and swim around just fine. and then the parasite will get the best of them. A few years back I had gotten a few fish. Did the 2 hour acclaimation, and put them in the tank. About two weeks later they all died. Then they spread the parasite to the fish I had already had. I ended up looseing a lot of fish. That is why we tell everyone to QT their new fish. Not all sick fish will look or act sick. Sometimes it will take a few weeks for some of these parasites kick butt.
I am sorry about your fish. It sucks big time. Hope your clowns do ok.
