I have a camel shrimp in my tank. He is new to the tank and has been in there for 1 week. I noticed today that he did some shedding and left his shell in the tank.
What causes them to shed and how often do they do this?

It is not unusual for them to molt fairly soon after being added to a tank, usually due to new conditions and maybe some stress. They will then molt periodically as they grow. I leave the molts in as they are mostly calcium. HTH
