well i have a decent camera but its strange that my lens's still can shoot with all the light comming off my tank.
if you use a dSLR to shoot your tank, what settings do you use? along with what lens.
my clown fish are way to fast to shoot with a slow shutter speed.

I've done some shooting on my tank with a Canon Rebel, and I know what you are talking about. What I've heard is that the best way to shoot the tank is with an external flash positioned above the tank and fired downwards, with an appropriate filter to mimic the aquarium lighting. I certainly don't have one of those however. What I've played around with is holding my hand in front of the builtin flash to sort of "diffuse" the light a bit, and keeping the shutter speed high. I've produced some decent pics this way, but by no means professional.

i shoot with my nikon d60. with my aquarium lights on, i turn my camera flash off, switch to S mode, and use my 50mm 1.8 lens. you can use whatever lens you want though. i forgot what f/stops i use, but if you really want to know, i can play around with the settings tonight and post some examples if you really want.
