shorter cycle??

:notsure: Do smaller tanks cycle faster?? just curious, I set up a 10 g on friday w/ 20lbs live sand and also, I added liquid "cycle" anyone ever use this?? My 75 g took 4 weeks and I did not use "cycle" but ,as of tonite all levels in 10 g are still 0??

i am not sure about the liquid cycle, but i do not think your tank has cycled. You might need to throw a dead shrimp in there from the grocery store. You need something to start an amonia spike. The tank is only cycled if you have had that amonia spike and everything has leveled back to 0.

If you use sand and rock from an established system you can shorten or evev beat the cycle. This worked great for me in my 28 gal. It never had any spikes.

Not necessarily and the cycle can be longer as even a small bioload is a much greater percentage of the system in smaller systems. If you set up your 10g with stuff from your 75g that probably helped. You 75 g did not have that luxury.
