should an RO unit have nitrates coming out in the "good" water?

My RO unit has around 2-5ppm of nitrate coming out in the water. is this right?

I know its RO but is your water POLISHED even more by deoinization? or DI? That should get rid of your last 2-5ppm.

thats not true at all... RO units can have 1 to ??? stages of filtration... 3 to 5 stage are very common with out a deionization stage...

Sure you could have low levels of NO3 get through. To my knowlegde no RO systems claims an absolute 100% removal of anything even with DI.

Here is a link to my units stock specifications. You will notice NO2 and NO3 are on the low end of percentages. Again this is based on known tested starts in the influent.
Aztec Reef - I don't know what to tell you other than "Never Say Never"...
Scan your specifications and show me where they say 100% regardless of water quality input.

Yes, you could see NO3 on the output of your RO system.
