So, I bought a new light for my 29g reef tank. It is a MH 250 watt T5 4 bulb actinac 24 watt each bult with the LED moon lights. Not the best brand in the world but for the price I am willing to take the chance. When I got the light home and started to get ready to put it up, I realized that it was not going to fit on my 29g tank with the included legs. My HOB protein skimmer gets in the way because the light fixture is so darn huge. So, now I think that I need to hang it like a pendant fixture. First question, Can a drop celing hold the weight of this light (standard basement drop celing, the light weighs about 15-20 lbs)?
What would be the best way to hang this light? Do I need a kit to be able to hang the light? How far from the top of the tank should this hang? Is this light too much for my tank? Okay, that was like four questions but anyways.... Please let me know what you think.
Ryan.

Nevermind. I was able to get the light on the tank by flipping them around. Still not as secure as I want but it will get by for a while. I am planning on setting up a way to have it secured with hanging it as well just in case.
