My Nass. snails aren't burrowing in the sand anymore.. they are "sleeping" on the glass and on rocks.. They never used to do this before..
Are they just weird, or is there something wrong?-with my sand maybe?
I do have a boxer crab.. Maybe he is trying to eatsting their antennae(?)
I did see a hermit crab grab onto a snail when I put food into the tank..
that snail flipped out..
Please help

They normally sleep in the sand bed during the day to protect themselves from predators. But if they have none in your tank, there is no need to bury themselves anymore. I have them in all of my tanks and they all start off being nocturnal. But then after a month or two they spend nearly all of their time out during the day. Only one tank, my butterfly tank, do they stay nocturnal. My butterflies pick at them during the day.

What would a predator be in my tank?
I have:
2 clarkii clowns
1 scarlet Hermit
1 Blue leg Hermit
Boxer Crab
3 Astrea snails
Unkown number of snails and starfish..
I'm going to guess the Boxer Crab
he can be a pain in the a**

There are no safe crabs, even hermits (though they are pretty safe by and large). The bigger they get, the more likely they are to try sampling just about anything that happens to catch their fancy.

If the crabs were an issue then the snails would hide even more. What is the SG in the tank? How long have you had the snails?
