Should I boil dried live rock?

I took a rock out of my tank to kill off some ugly polyps that were attempting to take over. The rock has been out about a week and smells pretty bad. Should I boil it before replacing it or just stick it back in? My tank is a 50g and has been established 3 years. Thanks

Have you tried rinsing it with water and scrubbing in with a tire brush to get rid of the dead decaying material?

I agree a good scrubing and rinsing then allow it to soak for another few days in fresh water.

Put it in a bucket with bleach for an hour. Take it out rinse will until you no longer smell bleach. But it in a bucket with tap water and a decorticator for an hour if you want to be extra sure
