Should I cover the tank with the tops or should I leave them off.My tank is fish only with dried coral and crushed coral.I ask because I have an canopy eith the back open.

if you have a canopy, I would leave the tops off; better gas exchange & less maintance

I would say depends on where your lights are. If they are directly on the top of the aquarium I would say run the tops. If they are not, Don't.
There are big advantages to not running them but, if your lights are only 2 inches away, you will gat alot of salt build up on them and have to clean them often. Not to mention the shock hazzard..

just make sure any fish you have cant jump out easily i just had a royal gramma jump out alittle gap i had after not even having him one day
