Should I get an iPad?

Here's the deal. I am a very dis-organized person, but about 2 months ago, I broke down and got a planner. It has literally saved my professional life, and now I can accurately manage a very complex schedule. The problem - I have chicken scratch for handwriting and I rarely take out my planner unless I'm at my desk.... I usually wait and update my planner once a day. Because I reference it, I'm able to generally remember when I have something to do. Plus, my planner doesn't remind me of anything.
Now, I have a blackberry, and I see absolutely no point in putting any scheduling on the little 2-inch screen. In the month view, there's no point - all I see are dots on the days. To zoom in to week view, I still can't see much of anything. In Day view, I have to scroll up and down to see my entire day.
With an iPad, I get a 10-inch screen that lets me see all my calendar notes, and in all three views. I think there's even a fourth view option on the iPad. If I use the iPad regularly, I can set it to remind me of my scheduling.
Plus, I ALWAYS have my laptop either open or nearby. BUT I use my laptop primarily for web browsing, modifying word doc's, and email, All of which the iPad was designed specifically for. With these features paired with an excellent scheduling system, I may not need to take my laptop everywhere anymore.
Web, email, word processing, excellent calendar, smaller mobile size, 10 hour battery life, instant on/off. I can see it seamlessly working into my life and I'd take it everywhere. I'd still use my laptop for more intensive stuff like building websites or making videos, but this would be my day-to-day companion.
Not to mention all the frills of owning an apple product - countless apps that seem to have been designed for every need/want in life, e-books, solid warranty, multi-touch experience, thin and sturdy design.
Now, I've thought about getting an iPhone, but I've had one before and I'm just not a fan of AT&T's service. Plus, I needed to charge the iPhone every day, and that was with minimal use. I would much rather have a simple phone I can charge once every few days. Plus, the calendar, web, email, and word processing don't work as well on a 3.5 inch screen.
SO, having said all that, should I get one? I'm not trying to sell you an apple product or start a mac vs. PC war, but just asking if you think it's worth the $500. Yes? No? Is HP's Slate better? Why?

Can you stick the Ipad in your pocket? People think the Iphone is so great but I hear a lot of whining about the coverage service too, what is it going to be like with these? I don't think I'd be fighting for the first seat on the bus for these things.

Nope, it's not for the pocket. More for the messenger bag/backpack.

Explain.
Your post about my worthless post was equally worthless. Then after another worthless post from me, you became confused and posted another worthless post. Now I am responding to the worthless post and we have a grand total of 5 worthless posts.
Dude, I'm sorry.

I'd be interested in what the average was with moderate use..... always be suspicious of the "up to".
Well in his keynote, Jobs explained that you could fly to Tokyo from New York (10+ hour flight) and watch movies the whole way on a single charge. I can only assume Steve Jobs probably did that test himself.

Dude, I'm sorry.
So do you have something worth saying that is relevant to the thread?
Assuming you don't and are instead looking for ways of self-amusement, I've been able to procure some other sites which may help pass the time for you:

It looks like a fun gadget. The size can be a benny as well as a hindrance.... just like the iPhone size can be a benny or hindrance. I'd like to play all the game apps on there and watch movies and music videos. The organizer apps are phenomenal.
If I didn't just get a netbook I would look into it for sure.
Do you have an iPhone/iTouch?

Dude why? use the calender in outlook and sync it with your blackberry. Use your phone for the reminders that day then use your laptop for longer term scheduling.

I've thought of that, but I don't like going to multiple places to do the same thing, and unless I'm sync'ing my blackberry all the time, there's no point because my laptop doesn't go everywhere with me ... hence the notepad-like planner, which is small, light, and I can take with me everywhere. I see the iPad as being the middle-mark between the laptop and the planner.

Yes I have. In fact, I am ashamed to say that I have owned the original iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS. In all three instances I returned them for a blackberry. The iPhone is like a Rolls Royce - it's super fancy and does everything well. But the blackberry is like a Prius. Not too many bells and whisltes, but does one thing extremely well, and that's email. No matter what, I need mobile email... regularly more than I need a "phone" and Blackberry Push services are second to none IMO. I LOVE that I get an email the instant it is sent to me. I love that my blackberry can go 2-3 days of moderate use on a single charge. It was those two things that had me sold on the blackberry.
Don't worry though, I had an iPod Touch for a while, but sold it last week to help build up funds for the possible purchase of an iPad.
