Should i just wait it out??..

my Ph nitrate nitrite and amonia are all in check but i have this brown algae growing all over my sandbed, overflow box and heater adn a few little green algae spots and one rock is starting to get covered on the top with green algae.... the tank is 3 months old... the only problem i cna think of is either too much light (280 watt Mh, T5 led current usa outer orbit on about 8 hrs a day) or i used tap water --- i ordered an Ro/DI unit which should arrive monday... i am thinking its the chemicals inthe tap and if i can just wait it out till monday and start doing water changes over to ro/di it shold go away.. any input????

You can turn back the MH for around 5-6 hrs and the tap water is almost certainly a contributing factor. Once you get the RO/DI and do some water changes that will definitely help .
