Should I put my Rabbitfish out of his misery?

After a bout of Ick or some similar parasite wiped out my whole tank, my Magnificent Rabbitfish was the only survivor. It appears to have left him blind. There is a haze over his eyes and he can't see food and just bumps into the sides and rock. Has not eaten probably for two weeks. I can see his stomach all contracted. Pathetic. I feel sorry for him. I am thinking I should just put him out of his misery.

I know how you feel. I lost most of my tank in the last 4 days. I thought I had ick, tried to treat it, but I am stuck. I have had a salt water tank for 10 years and never had anything like this happen. I would let him go and see what happens. I have a Pj Cardinal that still has the mystery sickness. I am going to let him ride it out, check temp, ph. Have you ever had little white spots on your glass of some kind of living organism that evolved into little strands 1/2 inch long hanging from the glass and rock. I may have a parasite.

Lets get TerryB's opinion on this one before you put the little fella out of his misery!

I agree with Beth, get Terry's advice before letting the little guy go. When my puny lil 3-stripe had ich, I was losing the battle and ALMOST put him out of his misery. I took a moment to think it out and spent 2 hours on here reading and asking questions. After performing hyposalinity, the lil guy pulled through and now, every day when I come home he comes rushing to the side of the tank to say hello knowing some tasty brine is coming his way.
I hope he pulls through for ya :)
