hi,
I am moving soon and wondering if it is ok to use the same substrate when I set tank back up?
the tank is 75 gallon reef, about 4 months old with about an inch af aragonite mixed with twenty percent crushed coral.

I probably would, but if you kept it wet and got it back up and running quickly then I would figure you would be ok.

I would reuse the sub., but remember that your tank will probably cycle after mixing it up in the move so you might have some place in mind to keep your fish until levels settle back down. Make sure you remove it before moving the tank to avoid cracks. Good luck with the move. We moved from Dayton, OH to Oceanside, CA last year and lost our livestock the day before move-in (like day #11 or so). It was so sad. They survived the Midwest winter in 7 gal. salt buckets equipped with heat and air while being sloshed around in the back of our jeep, but died in a hotel room not 3 miles from our new home. Talk about a LOT of work for nothing. Hope your move goes better than ours.

A fellow poster (Tim) and myself just moved a 120 tall and changed the substrate out from CC to sand. Just have the sand rinsed and ready to go before you put it in there and move the tank. Tank looks a lot better with the sand than the cc for sure.
