Should I pour my water directly into the tank and add the salt in there?
And do i need a filter if i have live rock?

Thats what I did. My tank was fine. I am sure its not recommended though. How big is your tank?

You can do that before you added anything.. like before you added live rock/sand.
To add rock/sand and then pour in water then add salt will end up killing things in the rock/sand.

You should be fine on initial setup...I'm assuming you won't have anything in the tank during this stage? Rock and sand could be added later, and if using dry sand you'd be fine as well.
