i voted yes, cuz this was pretty much my proposition. I doubt it'll happen. But it'd be cool.... seahorse forum will come before this.

i say yes.. because there are many questions on them... and it is a wide range.. crabs, lobsters, anemones, stars...
but i would say no on seahorses.. theres only a handful of people with seahorses, that would be like making a crab forum, shrimp forum, lobster forum, ect..ect..

They shouldn't be posting all over the place, if they could/would read.
It is listed in the description of the Reef tank forum
on the main page.
Reef Tanks (458 Viewing)
An ask and answer board for hobbyists with Corals, Inverts
, and Fish!
I voted no - since there is a place identified already.

the reef forum is very cluttered though, you must admit. imagine the fish discussion if their wasnt a clownfish forum? itd be as messy as the reef. and the seahorse forum is semi-confirmed i think, cuz alot of people want that.

The reality is that it would just be another cluttered forum, IMO. Questions on inverts are still reasonable in just about all forums, and I think they would still be posted in all the different forums :notsure:

but just like zman said if they could/would read then they would'nt still post it where is not suppost to.. doesn't it make the job easier for the moderators so they don't have to keep moving threads?

But the fact is that we have forums where it would still be appropriate to post invert threads, so people will still do it. And we have very clearly defined forums where people still post all sorts of things, for better or worse.
So in theory, sure it would be nice...but the reality is that they can be posted in various places...and they will continue to be I am sure.
In general we don't move threads because some people get very annoyed when that is done.

IMO, Invert Qs belong in the reef forum. Keeping inverts in a tank is one of the things that make the tank a reef.

Hey Who Dey,
I definitely think that an invert forum would be beneficial on this site. Think of all the questions that are posted on clean up crews at any given time. "How many do I need", "what would work best", etc., etc. Not to mention the acclimation questions with inverts...good idea.
And yes, we also need a seahorse forum, and what about a SCUBA and snorkeling forum photo forum?

I voted yes. Because its such a huge group. There is a reason I would say no. This forum cant have a selection for puffers, One for triggers, one for this and that. I like big sections that you dont need to keep flippin back and forth.

There is a reason I like this board. It is because there are a MANAGEABLE number of forums to read.
Believe me, people looking for clean up crews would still post in the new hobbyists, nano, aggressive, reef, etc, etc ,etc depending on what type of system they have...not necessarily because they are inverts.

I voted no because this isnt Burger King (Have it your way)
IMO the forum is well organized and the truth of the matter is that a thread with an invert, seahorse, sick fish, or whatever get sufficiently seen and addressed regardless where it is posted. :happyfish

Someone will always want something added or done differently to suit "their" needs or desires. I see it happen all the time working in the IT industry. The truth is that management looks at it from a perspective of what they deem best for everyones needs.
I come here to enjoy the vast knowledge, friendships and integrity provided on these message boards. For me, to try to tell them how to change it is a bit rude. Cheers!
(Note: I am in no way singling out or condemning anyones posts, I am simply typing my own opinion.)
