shrimp and iodine

Do you supplement your shrimp with iodine? Doesn't that become necessary when you run a skimmer because it removes trace elements?

When you feed your tank you add iodine to it through the foods. I don't believe that adding iodine is necessary. Regular water changes will replace your trace elements.

I agree. I do not use supplements and my shrimps and crabs have no trouble molting.

So, using the skimmer is not going to cause an iodine problem if you do regular water change:?

Do a search for "pistol shrimp", they were a item of the month recently and there was much discussion on this topic. If I remember correctly we learned it is not necessary to suppliment and that doing so can actually cause molting problems if overdosed......but double check in case I am mistaken.
