Shrimp Attack

Wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem? I put two XL feather dusters in the other day along with a couple of conch. I looked in on my tank a couple of hours later and my peppermint shrimp were feasting on one of my feather dusters and one of my conch? The feather duster seems to have withstood the intitial attack just losing parts of a few feathers. The conch was eaten.

I have seen one other post like this and it happened to me too.
I put in a FD and it was attacked right away. Pepermints ripped it's head off. Left it for a week to see but when I checked the other day the tube was empty. Hopefully he just moved. My conches are left alone.

I have 6 peppermint shrimp in my tank and they have never touched my feather duster.
Are you sure they are peppermint shrimps and not camel shrimps?

I do have one large feather duster in the tank and it has never been touched. But it was there before the peps.
How can you tell the dif between a pep and a camel back?
5 of mine are really red and 2 are not so red.
But is was 2 red ones that got it

Hey,
Camel Backs got the name because of a large hump on their backs. If you put one of each side by side it's real easy to tell the difference. Almost identical colors though.
