I noticed my cleaner shrimp (3 peppermint and one skunk)Have black spots on them. It began w/ one of the peppermints. It molted and it went away. But it is back. Someone said Epicaridean isopod. Big words scare me! What is that? How do I find out if the have it? How does it get there?
Can it be treated in QT? I don't think I can get these shrimp out with all the LR. Aaaah. Just when I got all my fish QT'd and doing great I buy some shrimp and I'm back to square one.

Search results, if it is indeed that isopod, it won't be a good outcome for the shrimp. But it will not affect your tank--it's not contagous. Your not back to square one, just set back alittle. Go through all those old posts (there are only a few), in one of them Bang stated if the spots were located in a certain area that it may not be the isopod. I gave you the link to the posts b/c I knew I wouldn't be able to explain it as well as Bang or Thomas. HTH
