Shrimp Problem

I kept a fire shrimp and a cleaner shrimp in a 36 gallon (a long time ago) without any problems. Although I rarely saw the fire shrimp... he hid most of the time.

ok, thanks....now i only have about 30 lbs of LR in my 55gal. Is that enough for the two of them or even one of them? Or should i wait to put them in until i put more LR in?

that should be good, most of a time they will pick a section and stick to that section, sounds like u have enough rock for a couple

A 55 gallon is plenty big enough for both shrimp... inverts don't put much of a bioload on your tank.
Personally, I would add more live rock, but that's more of a personal preference rather than a necessity.
How long has your tank been set up? Besides, the LR, what other kind of filtration and equipment do you have on the tank? What are the water parameters?

Well, that's a loaded question :) It's taken me a good long while to set up my tank (money holds me back). I have had it set up (after cycle) for about 9 months. I have a small sand bed and about 30 lbs of LR. The guy at the LFS told me that I don't really need any other kind of filteration because the LR would do all the work for me. But I decided to add a hang on filter just incase. A skimmer of course and an extra powerhead is all that I have in there. As for fish, I have two clowns and one damsel....he didn't like the other one and killed him so now it's just the one. One porcelain crab and one hermit.
