I think it is hit or miss when your CBS gets big?

Hopefully someone else will chime in.

It is hit or miss, it usually depends on the food availblity and tank size. In a small tank under 40 gallons i would say no. But the coral banded can and might eat you cleaner.

If they are underfed, Mie is right. Your coral banded will kill and eat your cleaner. If you have a tank of at least 40 gallons and a ton of rock to hide within, they will probably get along ok. I’ve had two of them together for about half a year and they don’t even get closed to each other. But I feed my tanks every single day, and sometimes twice in a day. Do everyone is happy.
Good luck man.

Most of the time when you have two cleaner shrimp, they will either mate or live symbiotically. I recommend, if space permits to get at least two cleaner shrimp. This will make the shrimp stay out in the open more.
Have fun!

Cleaner shrimp get along quite well. Are you sure the one is missing? They hide for a few days to a week after they molt while the new shell hardens.

What sized tank do you have? CBS's can be quite nasty, but cleaners are fast and unless something is wrong with the cleaner he will not have a problem getting away in a larger tank. If this tank is 30g or under then space is an issue. Cleaners swim quickly, using their tail, through the water and often perch on something up high.
