Shy Anthia

I purchased a male Square spot yesterday along with a maroon clown. I added them, and of course the anthia zips away into the rock to not be found. I've read that they are rather shy, so I've kept the light off, and left the tank pretty much alone, knowing they are light sensitive and all.
So the night passed, and he's still hiding. I'm hoping he's still alive, but I can't see to tell.
Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get this guy to be a little braver and come out? Or should I simply wait up to a week or so before worrying about it?
Thanks for all the help!

I noticed Anthias are sensitive to water quality as well. Give your fish some time...it will get used to its surroundings and come out a little at a time. They are pretty active and swim around the mid tank area (at least mine does). However I purchased 4 and have only 1 that made it out of the group, 2 died within a month and 1 got eaten by my anemone. This last one is now 5 months and going strong.

Square spots don't do so well I'm afraid, the females are power horses and mine survived through multiple insults. But anthias in general are not shy except for a few notable exceptions.... like the fathead/sunburst.

Square spot will hide and take longer than normal to acclimate under normal lighting. they dont like light but once they acclimate, start staying out and eating they do okay. they get pretty huge too. I've seen some monsters at the pet store.

Hmm..you guys are worrying me a little as far as their hardiness, but hopefully the little guy will pull through :) He's in a 155, so hopefully he'll grow nice and big, at least I can hope.

When they make it...it makes your day! That's the joy.
