Well I was looking at my tank this morning and my little snowflake ell was laying out in the open. Very odd. Well he is kind of laying on his side and not moving very much. I reached in the tank and he let me handle him. Anain very odd. Im hopeing that this guy isnt on his way out but I thought I would ask if any of you have this happen to you. He just ate like a pig two days ago. Raw shrimp, his usual diet.

I agree that that behavior is symptomatic of illness. Do you notice any red marks, deteriorating skin, parasites, etc.? Aggression from other fish?
Need more details.

No red marks anywere. There also arent any fish in the tank that would bug it at all. I have a three stripe damsel who is not aggressive, a longnose butterfly who keeps to himself. And a Lion who also could care less about the eel. They have all got along for some time now. I double checked the water and found no problems there. Not to mention all the other fish seem fine.
I got home from work just alittle bit ago and he is still hanging in there. Now he is under has favorite rock. Still breathing heavy though.......
I guess we will se what the morning brings..

How long of a time would this be? How long have you had the snowflake, and how long since you added anything else?

Well my poor eel passed last night. Not sure of the reason. Poor guy I only had him for about six months. He had lost almost all of his color. Almost no visible yellow and looked pail.

Im at a loss for what caused this. My other fish are happy as can be. I always thought eels's were pretty hardy. I guess it just wasnt ment to be. At least he will liveon on this site. He is the snowflake that is pictured on this site.
