Sick tang

I have a Purple Sailfin Tang (had him three days ). He is just comming out and I noticed one white dot on one side. It looks like it could be ick...Any other ideas as to what it could be and what is the best treatment for this... thanks terry

It could just be a single parasite. It sounds like you placed the fish directly in to your QT. Is that right? That pretty much eliminates any treatment options if that becomes necessary.
Offer the fish garlic soaked food. What type tank do you have, and do you have a QT?
