No. Not unless the salt was not completely disolved or the water had chlorine in it. Do you dose anything in your tank?

This is an important question... Do you have other fish and if so how are they acting??

by dose I mean do you put any iron or magnesium or calcium or buffer or anything that's not food into your tank?

If it weren't for a reddish eye, my guess would be constipation. The symptoms involve a string of feces trails behind the fish, the abdomen swells, the fish has little interest in food, and the fish is sluggish or resting on the bottum. No symptoms of disease are present.
The cure...don't feed the fish for 2 or 3 days.
But with the reddening of the eye that suggests a secondary bacterial infection. That would need to be treated in a seperate hospital tank, but if that's what it is then it may be to far gone to save since he is lethargic.

If a fish is fed an improper diet or is subjected to poor living conditions, it may develop constipation (or even diarrhea).
Do you by any chance have a cleaner shrimp?? My tang had gotten constipated to the point of hemeroids, and thank God for that cleaner shrimp!! I think I woulda lost him.
