Did I read on here somewhere that silicone doesn't adhere well to acryllic? Or, is it okay to use acryllic as baffels in a glass sump?

You can use silcone to install acrylic baffles in a glass sump but you need to have a large bead (1/4" wide) on each side of the baffles so that it creates a channel for the acrylic to sit in because the silicone won't adhere to the acrylic very well.

its true on a scale of 1 - 10 silicone has a bond strength of 5 to acryllic and 10 to glass. it can be used but you do need a far thicker bead to hold them in place. I personally reccomend glass on glass if your going to use silicone IMO its a more reliable bond..
as some one mentioned I believe there is a glue especially for bonding acryllic to glass, I dont know the name of it.

I have a 55g all glass aquarium that was just converted into my new sump/refugium. I cut .25" acrylic baffles and used silicon aquarium glue to bond them. I as well put a think bead of silicon to hold them in place along with support bars on each side with an extra think amount of glue to hold those bad boys in place. Did a water test this morning as of now not one single leak.
