Silicone Use

If i were to make aquariums with acryclic, could i use silicone from my local hardware store as long as it is 100% silicone?
just read that silicone doesnt adhere to acrylic and u have to use weld on? is this true?

No don't use silicone with acrylic - it will eventually fail. Weld-on should be used when bonding to acrylic to acrylic.

Not if you allow it to set-up properly prior to adding the water.

Silicone does not bond to acrylic -- very bad idea.
