Silt in the bottom of Sump

is the whitish silt in the bottom of the sump good or bad, should i leave it or remove it.????

Most likely it's not hurting anything, but I would go ahead and clean it out.

I would clean it, could be silt, could be partly waste, could be some calcification going on, the sump is a place where detrius could build up and it is good to always have it clean so that you can see just what is building up there.

Great question. Does anyone have a sure fired technique for getting this stuff out short of removing everything (ie bio balls, return pump, skimmer)?

I agree it's not easy
