i been looking into getting a zebra morray, ive done alot of research on it but one thing i need ideas from you guys if possible.
what is a good way to secure the top lid so the eel wont escape??? i have glass tops on it now which are pretty heavy but im sure the eel is strong enough to push. i also have a home made canopy on top. well if any one can give me some ideas on secureing the lid i would apperciate it.....thank you...

I would take the glass lids off. They can hold in heat and cause a green house effect. I would switch the egg crate. then put a 3 pound weight on it. Or a brick. Its not strong enough to move either.

tell u the truth, I have a SFE in my 75 and dont even use a lid at all. If u have a lot of rock and hiding places and keep him fed he will stay put. Maybe this is bad advice though because all fish are different. 2 years ago I had a SFE that jumped the 1st night. I guess just monitor him at night when the lights go out and see if he explores the surface. Mine doesnt. Egg crate is always a good idea for now.

I just use egg crate on both of my moray tanks, one of them is over 2 feet and doesn't try to push it up when he goes near the top so I think the brick is optionally, just monitor how it acts like bigtankbigfish said.

at first my eel would come to the top when I was feeding, but now he just sticks his head out of the rocks because he knows the stick with the food will come to him
