I have a 75 gal tank with a yellow tang, blue dansle, coral beauty, and a humu trigger. Does anyone see a problem with thesee fish interacting in the future? Question 2: my coral beauty is a loner and I never see her eat with the others. I've only had her for two days and I wonder about her health. Someone give me some insight on there eating behaviour. Question 3: I have crushed shells for the bottom of the tank and occasionally I see brown alge on some of the larger shells. What can I put in the tank to keep the shells and the glass clean? Snails? Thanks for your help.

I do not think the coral beauty will get along with the tigger and maybe the tang depending on it's temperment. It appears to me you have an aggressive set-up with a coral beauty thrown in.
Coral beauties are more of a community fish not aggressive and it could get intimidated by the other more aggressive fish. Angels can be tuff to keep, I had a bicolor and it would not eat and died. But, coral beauties are suppose to be a little easier, buut it is still an angel. I would say try putting the coral beauty in a quarintine (sp) tank by itself and it might start eating. Good Luck but I real do not think the coral beauty
belongs in the tank with the others. That is my opinion.

Well now I might have to disagree a bit with the last post in relation to the coral beauty. In a 75 with just the 4 fish you mention I see no reason they would not get along if the Trigger is not the biggest fish there. I have a Half Black Dwarf and Rusty Angel with my Clown Trigger for almost 5 years with no problems. Now the Coral is the new fish in town and you can't expect it to go in and feel comfortable that fast so give it some time and see if anyone goes after it (I would be more worried about the Yellow Tangs attitude then the Trigger right now). Make sure the Coral has somewhere to hide they need retreats to get comfortable. At some point the Trigger will get bigger and then it may show its true colors or it may just be a good fish and a good tankmate. Heck everything we do is a gamble even if you follow the books and the more experienced hobbiest advice. Fish are like people no two are ever the same. Keep in mind size tho you may have hit your limit if you want these fish to grow full size and stay alive.

Welcome to the board,
Question 3: Yes, by all means get some snails or maybe even a clean up crew.
I'm assuming this take has already cycled?? The brown on the crushed coral is diatoms and is a good sign that your tank is maturing.

Hey-I'd have to agree with Puff. Those fish should be fine together in that tank. The Humu is the least aggressive of the triggers so the Tang may end up being more aggressive then it. I wuoldn't worry about it. Plus, it's only been two days since the Coral was in there. Relax, you're fine. Just don't add anymore fish. Plus, you may want to put some snails in there to take care of your "brown algae". Plus, they're great natural food for the Trigger when he's bigger. No worries just keep an eye out.
